The service, in plain English

What you're actually getting when you book us.

What it is

Trained, uniformed cocktail bartenders supplied for any event format. They arrive early, set up the back-bar, build your drinks list to order, run service, and break down after last orders, leaving your space exactly as they found it.

Who it's for

Couples planning a wedding at a dry-hire venue, marketing teams running brand launches, hosts throwing milestone parties, restaurants needing extra hands for a private buyout, and venues short-staffed for a one-off.

When you need it

Anywhere the bar matters: weddings, drinks receptions, anniversary dinners, corporate hospitality, product launches, festival VIP areas, restaurant takeovers and after-parties. From a single bartender for four hours to a full team for a multi-day festival.

Why it matters

A great bartender doesn't just pour, they read the room, control queues, recommend serves your guests didn't know they wanted, and keep service flowing when the kitchen runs late. That's the difference between a good night and a memorable one.

The cost of getting this wrong

What 'we'll just get a mate to do it' actually costs you.

Most event disasters we're called in to rescue come from one decision: hiring an inexperienced bartender to save a few hundred pounds. By the time you notice, it's too late, guests are queuing, drinks are inconsistent, and the wow factor you paid your venue for has quietly disappeared.

What happens if you ignore it

  • Service bottlenecks: a 60-second pour at 200 guests means a queue that never clears.
  • Inconsistent measures, over-pouring burns through your stock budget by 30–50%.
  • No personal liability insurance: if something happens, it's on you and the venue.
  • Untrained staff over-serve, putting your venue's licence at risk and your event's reputation with it.
  • No back-up plan if your bartender no-shows the morning of the event.

Common mistakes we fix

  • Booking on price alone rather than reviews and references.
  • Forgetting to factor in setup time, prep and pack-down (usually 90 minutes either side).
  • Not specifying the cocktail list in advance, bartenders need ingredients lists 14+ days out.
  • Assuming the venue provides ice, garnish or glassware. They almost never do.
  • Skipping bar runners on guest counts above 80, your bartender becomes the bottleneck.

The detail

Everything underneath the surface.

Bartender hire is more nuanced than it looks. The right team for a 30-person whisky tasting is completely different from the team you need for a 350-guest summer wedding. Here's how we think about it.

Bartender tiers, what they actually mean

We grade our team into three tiers based on experience, technique and serve speed. The right tier for your event depends on guest count, serve complexity and venue format.

  • Tier 1, Service Bartender: high-volume, classic serves, perfect for weddings.
  • Tier 2, Cocktail Bartender: full classic & contemporary cocktail menus.
  • Tier 3, Senior Mixologist: bespoke menus, brand launches, molecular work.
  • Flair Bartender: bottle-juggling theatrics for entertainment-led events.

Bartender-only vs full bar service

If your venue already has a bar, glassware and ice, a bartender-only hire is usually the right call, they show up with their kit, build from your stock, and run service. If you're in a dry-hire venue, marquee or private space, you'll need a fully-equipped mobile bar.

How many bartenders do I actually need?

A good rule of thumb: one bartender per 60 guests for a relaxed format, one per 40 for a busy reception with welcome drinks, one per 30 for a high-volume bottomless brunch or festival bar. We'll model your guest flow and recommend exactly the right team size.

Residential vs commercial

Residential events (home parties, garden weddings, intimate birthdays) typically need a single bartender plus runner and a portable bar. Commercial events (brand launches, corporate hospitality, festival bars) require larger teams, branded uniforms, signed risk assessments and PLI certificates supplied to the venue in advance.

Materials & method

Our bartenders bring full kit, Boston shakers, Hawthorne strainers, mixing glasses, jiggers, peelers, atomisers, and use specification-led builds for consistency. We freshly-press citrus on site, batch syrups in-house, and never pre-mix sweet-and-sour bases (the dead giveaway of cheap event bartending).

Local coverage across the North West

We're based in Liverpool but cover Manchester, Cheshire, Wirral, Chester, Preston, Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and Altrincham as standard, with no travel surcharge inside a 40-mile radius. We also work the North Wales coast, Lancashire and the Lakes on request.
